Family Photos: Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

I thought that I had the best idea ever when I scheduled family photos during our vacation in Mexico.  WRONG.  Ha, it was probably one of my worst experiences as a parent and maybe even in my life in general.  Sloan woke up right before our evening session MASSIVELY TEETHING.  She was cutting a molar, had a low-grade fever, and the worst runny nose.  She basically cried and chewed on her hands the entire shoot.  It got so bad that I said, "ENOUGH!  I cannot do this to her anymore!"  So the photographer said that she would come back the next day and try again.  Well... Sloan was still teething the next day and it was effing hot outside!  Eric and I sweated while Sloan chewed on her hands some more.  For those of you who know Sloan well, you know that she is quite the social butterfly and really enjoys meeting new people.  I don't know what was up with our photographer, but Sloan became VERY UNCOMFORTABLE and UPSET whenever the photographer would speak or really even look at her.  It was like an energy thing... I've never seen Sloan so upset by someone... ever!  As soon as our shoot was over and the photographer was gone, Sloan returned to her perfect happy self.  I am truly shocked the photographer got any photos of Sloan smiling at all.  I learned my lesson though, and we will not be doing family photos on another vacation!

Our Family Vacation: Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Now that we are home from our family vacation in Mexico, I can't help but feel sad when I look at the pictures.  I want to go back!!!  I want to nap with a Woo on top of me by the pool, play in the sand, and get to spend all day long with Dada!  BUT unfortunately we won't get to do any of that again until next year when we return to Mexico.  Darn!

We stayed at Fiesta Americana, which was amazing!  The resort is also very kid friendly!  Employees would come down to the pool each day and bring little treats for kids.  One day they brought a ton of water balloons and dropped them into the pool.  Another day they brought balloons and little packs of Oreo cookies.  Obviously the Oreos were Sloan's favorite treat... little fat kid trapped in a skinny girls body!

Another amazing part of our vacation... my mother in law came on the trip with us!  Eric and I got a day to go explore Cabo while Sloan played with grandma.  Since moving to Seattle and away from family, Eric and I never get alone time.  It was so needed and we both appreciated our alone time so much.  I mean we HELD HANDS while walking down the streets of Cabo :):):).  I know that sounds ridiculous, but after you have a baby the PDA takes a huge nose dive.  If you're going on vacation, take a grandparent so that its actually a vacation for you and your spouse!

It was an amazing family vacation and I am so thankful we had the opportunity to take this wonderful trip.  I love my little family so much, they're the best.

Sloan's Seattle Nursery!

A lot of our Oregon friends and family have been asking to see Sloan's nursery in Seattle, so I decided to snap a few pictures and put them here to share!  I LOVED Sloan's nursery at our home in Portland and it was actually the number one reason I didn't want to leave our home.  It was a perfect nursery fit for a princess!  Her nursery in Seattle is just as cute and we spend a lot of time playing in there, enjoying her special space!  Hope you like it too!
